Emotionally Speaking

Daily writing prompt
What’s a simple pleasure in life that brings you joy?

Some people find joy in the big things, but me? I find mine in the quiet rhythm of words. I’ve been writing poetry since I was five years old, and over time, it became more than a passion, it became a part of me. The way some people breathe air, I breathe poetry… Here’s a poem that I wrote when I was going through some difficulties in life.

Emotionally Speaking

Tragedies can feel like blasphemy

My mind is running fast from me

Yelling to God

Silent fiscade (fa-sod)

A catastrophe

Chasing my tears

All of these Years

No escape

Red Chandeliers

Of all my fears

At the gates.

At moments I break

As reality waits

Blindly running

Feet are drumming

To the beat of my faith.

Inaudible melodies

Run down my face

This hell that we reside in?

What is this place?…

The vibrations of life

Come to shake you

Have you ever wondered if…

It’s God awakening you

I am emotionally speaking

My light is fluorescently beaming

My sows are currently reaping

Time is steadily seizing.

Tribulations write my story

I give Jesus all the glory

But at times when I’m home

All alone,

My volumes dance in the microphone

When I’m emotionally speaking….

My mind is convulsionally thinking

Uncontrollably weeping

My heart has kept me from seeing

The clouds of my present being

Flood my wounds that are seeping

Blood curdling tears that you’re screaming.

My tears are steadily streaming

From rhythms of my breathing

The world around me is bleeding

And I am presently thinking

While unnoticing I’m emotionally speaking…
